Between June 8 and August 11, 2002 three teachers from West Virginia and Florida fulfilled their dream of bicycling coast to coast.  This web site gives the details of that trip.  It shows the scenery we saw and describes the daily adventures we experienced while riding Adventure Cycling's Transamerica Trail.  Welcome to our site!

Riding a bicycle across America is no small task, but it is one that most people can accomplish.  It is similar in schedule to having a job and getting up daily , going to work for 8 hours, coming home to prepare dinner,  and then going to bed to rest for the next day.  It doesn't take any special athletic abilities, just a dedication to daily do the task.  "Rest if you must, but don't you quit."

There are three reasons why we put together this website:

The first is to share the adventure with friends and family, giving them a look at the scenery, people, and experiences we told them about via email while doing the ride.

The second is to inspire others who visit our site to get out and know the joys of bicycle touring, and provide information for future Transam riders.

The third reason for this site is to store our memories for future reminiscing.
