One advantage of staying in a good motel is they serve breakfast the next morning.  The Best Western in Sisters had a continental breakfast, so we waited till 7:00 for it to open.  It was a nourishing meal, but the delay caused our ride to start later than we wanted.  We have been starting early each day to beat the heat, but the delay meant we'd have a hot ride.

It turned out to be another hot, sunny day.  The ride was flatter and easier than yesterday, but by the time we got to Prineville we were overheated and tired.  A stop at the DQ there for cold drinks and Blizzards gave us the boost needed to make it to Polk County Park at the Ochoco Reservoir.

Polk County Park is a nice campground with lots of shade trees.  However, tents could not be set up on the grass because of the dry weather.  The camp host made of point of checking our site to make sure our tents conformed with the rules.

We met cross country cyclist Andy Jensen who was also spending the night at Polk County Park.  Ron and Cindy Coldwell were also camping here tonight.  They are going our direction tomorrow to start a canoe trip with some friends.  They were very interested in our trip and we spent a lot of time talking bike touring.  When they found out we were all going in the same direction tomorrow Ron and Cindy volunteered to carry our gear to the top of Ochoco Pass.  Wow!
