We wondered if someone lived in this building. The Bible belt shows it's support for God and country.

The areas near the Ohio and Mississippi rivers have high humidity year round.  We were close to the Ohio River for much of the ride today and rode soaking wet.  The heat and humidity are making us sweat a lot more than we have up to this point.  The soggy biking gloves are rubbing our hands and making them sore.  Carol's are especially tender and even have small cracks in the skin.  It's time to do a little first aid.  At the end of the day we heard the heat index was between 125 and 135.  It was a difficult day so we took lots of breaks and drank lots of water.

Our lunch break today was at Sissy Jack's in Beech Grove.  We took our time and enjoyed the Philly cheese steak sandwich, pecan pie a-la-mode, and conversation with the other customers.

We stopped in Utica for the night and are staying in the fire hall.  It is a nice facility with a shower, lounge area with a TV that gets all the channels, sleeping quarters with bunk beds, and bedding to sleep on.  A real nice place to stay - we hope there aren't any fires tonight!
